• The Parent Engagement Collaborative Action Network (PECAN) consists of experts in the field, practitioners, and community members collaborating to explore evidence-based practices of improving family and community engagement in District 5.

• Through the lens of racial equity, PECAN is working towards developing a family and community engagement framework that will be rooted in building “true” partnerships between schools and families.

​

• PECAN is recruiting parent and community members to participate in a Parent Affinity Group and receive training on organizing and advocating for effective policies that improve the quality of education for their children.  If you would like to join the parent affinity group, please complete the volunteer form (link)

• PECAN conducted a 10-week “Parenting Journey Series” for parents which resulted in graduates becoming active PTA members and/or joining the Community Education Council for their district.
